Job summary

Life360 seeks an IP attorney with 5+ years of experience to lead the company’s patent and trademark portfolios. You will negotiate and draft IP-related agreements, advise on open source, and support commercial and corporate development efforts from the in-house team.

You will report to the Deputy General Counsel for Commercial, Litigation & IP and collaborate with Finance, Product, Privacy, Engineering, and Marketing.

Qualifications

• J.D. and bar admission in at least one state.
• 5+ years of patent prosecution experience at a national or regional firm.
• In-house experience at a consumer tech company is a plus.
• Trademark prosecution experience is a plus.
• Background in IP counseling across trademarks, patents, and open source.

Responsibilities

• Manage patent portfolio with outside counsel and internal clients.
• Manage trademark portfolio and jurisdiction planning.
• Advise on transactional IP matters including licenses and portfolios.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements.
• Provide guidance on open source licenses and compliance.
• Support IP aspects in commercial transactions and M&A reviews.
• Review social media/marketing for IP and consumer protection.
• Assist due diligence by identifying IP risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IP strategies with business.
• Monitor evolving IP law and adjust guidance accordingly.
