Job summary

Lyten, Inc. is seeking a Senior Patent & IP Counsel in San Jose (remote eligible) to lead the company’s IP strategy and patent portfolio. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align patent efforts with the roadmap and business goals.

The role combines hands-on drafting and prosecution with strategic management of budget, outside counsel, and IP diligence for acquisitions, licenses, and collaboration agreements.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active US state license; USPTO registration required.
• 7+ years IP experience with drafting, prosecution and strategy.
• Experience with licensing, confidentiality agreements, and strategic portfolio management.
• In-house or law firm experience supporting tech/materials/hardware companies.

Responsibilities

• Own Lyten's patent strategy and filing prioritization with engineering teams.
• Lead patent claim strategy and perform FTO/infringement analyses.
• Review invention disclosures and sharpen disclosures before prosecution.
• Manage outside counsel, budget, docketing, and IP portfolio hygiene.
• Lead IP diligence in M&A and asset purchases; advise on trademarks.
