Job summary

Copeland Cold Chain LP in the United States seeks an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to lead low-power, connected firmware for our IoT devices.

You will architect secure embedded software that bridges edge hardware with cloud infrastructure, collaborating with hardware, systems, and cloud teams from bring-up through mass production.

This role emphasizes MISRA C, RTOS (FreeRTOS/Zephyr/ThreadX), OTA updates, and validation, while mentoring junior engineers and driving coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS.
• 5+ years of embedded C/C++ firmware for IoT/edge devices.
• Proficient with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr or ThreadX.
• Experience with Wi‑Fi, BLE, LTE‑M/NB‑IoT and secure communications.

Responsibilities

• Design, code and maintain production-grade firmware for MCUs.
• Develop low-power wireless stacks and protocols.
• Create device drivers and assist hardware bring-up.
• Implement secure OTA updates and hardware root of trust.
• Perform testing with RTOS and HIL workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce coding standards.
