Job summary

MultiTech seeks a Senior Software Engineer - Backend, DevOps & IoT Operations in Mounds View, MN. You will bridge edge devices and cloud, focusing on operational excellence, scalable device onboarding, and fleet-wide command execution.

Responsibilities include zero-touch onboarding, OTA updates, cohort migrations, and building scalable backend services with CI/CD automation. Collaboration across product, cloud, and customer success is essential to deliver reliable IoT solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with Industrial IoT
• Deep expertise in Linux (Ubuntu), Bash
• Strong experience with container management and Docker; Kubernetes preferred
• Proficiency in building event-driven architecture and utilizing messaging systems
• Hands-on experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions

Responsibilities

• Deliver zero-touch onboarding for repeatable device onboarding across supported integrations
• Execute fleet operations including configuration push, app lifecycles, and OTA updates
• Manage safe cohort-based migration of legacy fleets and self-service expansion
• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for device management, billing, authentication, and admin
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, Cloud, and Customer Success teams to deliver IoT solutions
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining code quality
