Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Senior iOS Software Engineer at its Chandler, AZ location. You will provide technical leadership and project planning for software development focused on commercial aviation products, applications, or systems as an individual contributor.

The role requires delivering well-architected Swift and Objective-C software, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in design reviews and project planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent academics (GPA ≥ 3.0)
• Proficiency in designing well-architected software systems and modules
• Experience researching problems and implementing algorithmic solutions
• Ability to lead software engineering for complex projects
• Ability to decompose requirements into well-defined tasks
• Ability to offer peer technical assessments in areas of expertise and new technologies
• Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, SwiftUI and UIKit (or other languages)
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Positive, detail-oriented, organized, team-oriented and self-starting with ability to lead in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead software development in Swift, Objective-C, SwiftUI and UIKit
• Possibly serve as Lead Software Engineer for complex designs and reviews
• Decompose requirements into defined tasks
• Research fundamental problems and implement algorithmic solutions
• Provide peer technical assessments and guidance
• Assist design engineering with component reviews
• Participate in project leadership and planning
• Contribute to feasibility assessments and scheduling decisions
• Mentor junior engineers
• Contribute to advanced technical research and process improvements
• Provide on-call support for Garmin's 24/7 operations
