A leading company in investment management is seeking a skilled professional to contribute to strategic investment decisions and lead performance analytics. The role involves managing investment relationships, conducting market research, and ensuring compliance with investment guidelines. This remote-first position requires strong project management and analytical skills, with a preference for candidates in commuting distance.
JOB SUMMARY
Contributes to the strategic and tactical investment management decisions and leads investment performance and analytics reporting. Provides investment research and analysis, performance and risk measurement, and leads special projects and studies. Responsibilities also include manage assigned investment manager relationships, and mentor, train and support other analysts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (* = ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1. *Oversee performance measurement and analytics, including collaborating with internal staff and external vendors on net-of-fees performance reporting, return attribution, daily asset allocation and return estimates, and return-based risk, factor and style analyses.
2. *Lead market research, liquidity and market value forecasting, portfolio risk analysis, and special projects to contribute to the overall asset allocation and portfolio construction decisions.
3. *Conduct new and on-going manager due diligence, including review investment contracts and guidelines, manage assigned manager relationships, review portfolio activities and compliance, conduct meetings and calls, assist in account transitions, and provide professionally written notes, reports, and memos to document due diligence efforts.
4. *Prepare and review NEIL’s corporate reports and presentations, including NEIL, NEIL Overseas, and Cedar Hamilton Board and Committee materials, AM Best presentation, department orientation materials, and other reports and presentations as assigned. Oversee and train other analysts on Board report preparation.
5. Review key investment department policies and procedures to ensure compliance and recommend changes as appropriate. Document and/or update operational processes and procedures as assigned.
6. Provide operational support, such as managing custodial activities, portfolio transitions, cash flows, budget preparation and analysis, financial statements review, KRI reporting, invoice review, and audit support as assigned.
7. Support investment research for NEIL’s benefits decisions.
8. Other duties as assigned to foster an efficient flow of business.

Position is remote-first, but some in-office work time is required. Candidates within commuting distance strongly preferred.
Job Knowledge
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar portfolio analytics systems.
Knowledge of marketable and non-marketable investments permitted under NEIL’s Investment Guidelines and Objectives, including fixed income, equities, private assets, real assets, hedge funds, and derivatives.
Knowledge of portfolio risk considerations, including, but not limited to, duration, credit risk, equity risk, currency, volatility, and illiquidity.
Working knowledge of CFA Global Investment Performance Standards (“GIPS”) for traditional and alternative investments
Working knowledge of investment contract terms, guidelines, and common industry practices
Competencies/Abilities
Strong project management skills and able to lead projects independently
Strong business writing and report writing skills
Intermediate to Advanced quantitative skills, including algebra and statistics
Able to exercise good judgement and discernment in problem-solving and decision making
Able to analyze data, including large data sets, and develop related insights through critical thinking
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to organize one’s work and prioritize effectively
Able to work and collaborate effectively in small team environment while working remotely, including clear verbal and written communications
Educational Requirements and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. MBA or other relevant graduate degrees preferred
Seven years of experience working in an institutional portfolio management environment required
Completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program
Knowledge of Python or database management preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit/stand for extensive periods of time.
Ability to use the telephone and web-based communication tools requiring auditory and verbal senses.
Ability to use the computer for extensive lengths of time requiring finger dexterity and visual acuity.
Ability to travel independently by train, plane, or car, occasionally on short notice
