Job summary

LHH is seeking an Accounting Manager for a premier luxury retailer in New York City. The role focuses on inventory and revenue accounting, GAAP compliance, and overall financial reporting within a fast-paced retail environment.

The successful candidate will oversee revenue accounting, manage inventory controls, and lead month-end close while collaborating with operations and merchandising teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in retail, luxury retail, or consumer products.
• Significant experience with inventory accounting and inventory controls.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
• Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee revenue accounting activities to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Manage all aspects of inventory accounting and establish reserves.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Analyze inventory and revenue variances and advise management.
• Support financial statement preparation and external audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls and adhere to policies.
• Collaborate with operations, merchandising, and retail teams on reporting matters.
