Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for its Real Estate Division in New York City. This role oversees a portfolio of commercial real estate assets on a domestic and international scale, guiding a three-person accounting team and producing GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

You will lead month-end close, supervise GL activities, and provide detailed analysis to support senior management decisions in a fast-paced environment with cross-border responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA strongly preferred.
• Public accounting experience desirable.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in real estate/private equity/investment management.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven experience supervising accounting staff.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a staff of three accounting professionals.
• Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of domestic and international commercial real estate properties.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
• Oversee general ledger accounting activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support senior management decisions.
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate all audit activities and provide schedules to external auditors.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.
