Job summary

Oatey Company, a long-standing manufacturer serving the plumbing industry in Cleveland, seeks a highly skilled Receiving/Inventory Supervisor. The role focuses on material planning, inventory control, and lean improvements to exceed customer service goals.

Responsibilities include supervising the receiving team, managing working capital inventory, and collaborating across departments to optimize stock levels and production scheduling. Strong MRP and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of planning and scheduling with MRP in SAP/Oracle or similar ERP systems.
• Significant supervisory experience in a high-volume warehouse/receiving operation.
• Strong initiative, follow-up, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in a build-to-forecast manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise receiving team, including Material Handlers and Inventory Specialists.
• Manage all purchased inventory to maintain working capital without jeopardizing production.
• Communicate shortages and expediting status across functions.
• Lead Lean initiatives to control and minimize inventory.
• Collaborate with production planning to align demand and minimize stockouts.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support annual inventory process.
• Develop SOPs for material planning processes and systems.
• Present quantitative and qualitative findings clearly.
• Cross-train for back-up production scheduling and inventory counts.
• Coordinate with Sourcing on future rail car deliveries.
