Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Engineer Senior 1 to design and build core Inventory Positioning Engine capabilities. You will own solution-level designs, mentor junior engineers, and participate in 24x7 on-call responsibilities.

You will work across the fulfillment network (DCs, FCs, stores) to optimize inventory placement, improve performance, and ensure security standards. Strong communication and AI-aware mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, installing and maintaining complex software programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full-stack features (design, implementation, and support).
• Work across APIs and infrastructure.
• Build reusable cross-platform components for future use.
• Translate requirements and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams.
