Job summary

Avantor in Bakersfield, CA seeks an inventory control specialist to manage daily stock reconciliation, CPI counts, and data integrity across SAP and warehouse systems.

You will investigate discrepancies, conduct wall-to-wall counts, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate inventory and timely fulfillment. Strong Excel/MS Office skills and experience with PIT are required. This is a full-time on-site role with opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years of inventory control experience or degree.
• Experience using warehousing computer systems.
• Experience completing wall-to-wall inventory counts in a large distribution center.
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook and Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts end-to-end CPI stock counts and ensures inventory accuracy.
• Maps the warehouse and creates analysis ranges.
• Investigates discrepancies between physical counts and SAP records.
• Runs CPI reports and identifies high-traffic zones.
• Prepares monthly location and dollar accuracy reports for Corporate.
• Audits monthly precursor zone results and reports outcomes.
• Investigates discrepancies in customer orders and system shorts.
• Performs daily stock checks and communicates findings to internal teams.
