Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an accounting professional responsible for validating and approving correct billing and payments for inventory service providers, performing journal entries, and preparing period close accruals. You will oversee the physical inventory schedule, coordinating with departments and vendors to ensure inventories meet Dollar General’s parameters.

The role involves data mining, identifying issues, and driving improvements in scheduling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, etc., or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Retail work experience is a plus.
• Experience with data analytics and continuous improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives continuous improvement of inventory scheduling and related processes with partners and vendors.
• Produces financial and operational reporting and analysis for leadership advisement.
• Maintains documentation on physical inventory processes and provides expert escalations guidance.
• Monitors and reviews inventory service invoice payments for accuracy; completes period close tasks.
• Produces and analyzes inventory schedule compliance and collaborates to resolve issues.
