Job summary

Duke Energy's Materials & Supplies Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to apply advanced accounting knowledge to inventory accounting, GAAP compliance, and internal controls. The role partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, auditors, and regulatory teams to resolve issues and support financial reporting.

The position demands independent work, strong data analysis, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience beyond degree.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex inventory accounting analysis and reconciliations.
• Ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance in close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Analyze inventory data, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, and auditors.
