Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions in Morton Grove, IL seeks a Senior Accountant with strong inventory accounting experience to join our growing organization. You will lead inventory accounting activities, support month-end close, analyze inventory variances, and partner with operations to ensure financial accuracy and effective inventory management.

The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of accounting experience with exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics), advanced Excel skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial inventory accounting.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or inventory-intensive environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory valuation, controls, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead inventory accounting activities including valuation, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, COGS, accruals, and GL activity.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Conduct inventory variance and cost analyses, recommending improvements.
• Support and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
