Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem is seeking a Cardiovascular Specialist to support invasive cardiology procedures in the Cath Lab. You will prepare medications, ensure equipment readiness, and provide emergency response as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires ARRT or RN licensure, ACLS/BCLS, and strong patient care, safety, and documentation skills. On-call coverage and adherence to Universal Protocol are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Allied Health Technology such as Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, etc.
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Interventional Program or minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist
• Registered with and certified by the ARRT or current license as a Registered Nurse in applicable state; license/registry for Allied Health field

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and policies to promote teamwork and quality of service.
• Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies and responds to emergencies; initiates codes as needed.
• Operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment for invasive cardiology procedures; performs daily checks and quality control.
• Maintains safety by adhering to radiation safety protocols and fall precautions; protects patient privacy and data.
• Maintains accurate departmental records and documentation across electronic systems; ensures data quality for QA.
• Provides on-call coverage for 24-hour emergency Cath Lab operations; responds promptly to emergencies.
• Delivers patient care under licensure and physician supervision; administers medications and monitors physiologic stability.
• Trains and supports co-workers; participates in continuing education and competence assessments.
