Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in intercultural communication, international relations, advising.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in foreign student or scholar advising.
• Expert knowledge of SEVIS and student immigration regulations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for complicated immigration cases.
• Superior communication skills to educate faculty and administrators on nonimmigrant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and advise nonimmigrant students and their families on immigration status and university policy.
• Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) in SEVIS.
• Maintain expertise in SEVIS and record-keeping systems for regulatory reporting.
• Develop procedures and provide training and outreach to schools and colleges.
• Assist with student processing and projects as part of the ISSO management team.
