Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Senior International Advisor to join the International Support Services team. As a DSO and ARO, you will counsel students and scholars on F-1 and J-1 regulations, maintain SEVIS data, and ensure compliance across our sponsorship programs.

You will supervise international advisors, develop training and workshops, and collaborate with KU departments to educate on immigration rules affecting university operations. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus 1 year of P/DSO & A/RO experience or Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant P/DSO & A/RO experience.
• Attention to detail evidenced by application materials.
• Excellent written communication evidenced by materials.
• 1 year experience delivering workshops on F-1 or J-1 regulations.
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• 1 year experience with SEVIS as P/DSO and A/RO.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on immigration policy and regulatory issues.
• Monitor compliance of F-1/J-1 sponsorships and processes.
• Serve as Tier 2 advisor for newer immigration staff and front desk.
• Counsel students and scholars on F-1/J-1 rules and procedures.
• Process data and create immigration documents in SEVIS.
• Develop and deliver workshops on F-1/J-1 regulations.
• Supervise 1–2 International Advisors in a compliance area.
• Design and implement technical solutions for immigration-related regulations.
• Train non-DSOs and KU departments on immigration rules.
