Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Controls to lead a team delivering control assurance, testing, and advisory services across financial, operational, and compliance processes.

The role focuses on designing and maintaining an enterprise control framework, partnering with business leaders to close gaps, and driving governance improvements in a hybrid in-office setting.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 8+ years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, and/or SOX/internal controls consulting.
• 4+ years of people management experience with direct supervision and coaching.
• Experience leading multiple control assessments or testing engagements across departments.
• Strong knowledge of COSO and SOX, with advisory capabilities.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
• Healthcare familiarity with Medi-Cal/Medicare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Consultants and Seniors to oversee control assurance and remediation oversight.
• Design, test, and maintain enterprise internal control framework across 700+ controls.
• Partner with business leaders to close control gaps and strengthen governance.
• Deliver risk-based, sustainable control environment and advisory recommendations.
