Job summary

Blue Shield of California's Internal Controls team designs, tests, and maintains a 700+ control framework across financial, operational, and compliance processes. The Senior Manager will lead a team of consultants and seniors, overseeing control assurance and advisory work to deliver a risk-based, sustainable control environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4 years of additional relevant experience.
• 8+ years in public accounting, internal audit, and/or SOX/internal controls consulting.
• 4 years of people management experience supervising, coaching, and evaluating direct reports.
• 8+ years in internal controls, risk, audit, or compliance, including 3 years of people-management and portfolio delivery.
• Led multiple control assessments or testing engagements per year across at least 2 departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Consultants and Seniors overseeing control assurance (methodology, testing, attestations) and remediation oversight.
• Provide control advisory (process assessments, control design, framework enhancements) to business units.
• Partner with business leaders to close control gaps and strengthen governance.
• Apply COSO/SOX frameworks to deliver a risk-based, sustainable control environment.
