Job summary

South Jersey Industries (SJI) is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to lead the planning and execution of internal and leadership communications, town halls, and employee engagement initiatives. You will oversee employee listening programs and guide action planning to improve culture and organizational effectiveness.

The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, delivering clear and timely messaging, and driving programs that strengthen connection across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
• 8–10 years of progressive internal communications, employee engagement, or organizational communications experience.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal communications plans and executive messaging to inform, engage, and connect employees with company priorities and goals.
• Plan and execute town halls, leadership meetings, and employee forums, coordinating agendas and follow-up communications.
• Oversee employee engagement programs including surveys, action planning, and reporting of outcomes.
• Coach and develop a high-performing team of communications and engagement professionals.
