Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Illinois is seeking an Internal Auditor to conduct audits of procedures, records, and financial activities in alignment with auditing standards and Salvation Army policies.

You will lead or participate in full audit cycles, review controls and assets, and report findings to local command leadership. A BS in Accounting/Finance and CIA certification or eligibility, plus 3 years of audit experience, are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited college; CIA certification required or eligible.
• Three years of internal or external audit experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Office 365).
• Ability to communicate in English with supervisors, staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform full internal audit cycle, including risk management metrics and control management over operational effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with directives.
• Complete internal audits and coordinate with team members to schedule audits.
• Review and verify financial statements, assets, liabilities, and bank reconciliations.
• Report audit findings to local command finance staff and assist in closing meetings.
