Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Manager, Standards and Training, to lead methodology development and training within the Internal Audit Department. You will guide auditors on risk evaluation, control testing, and process improvement, driving consistent practice across large-scale financial operations.

You’ll develop instructional content and maintain SharePoint guidance, collaborating with risk functions to align policies and support effective governance.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of internal audit experience in financial services, public accounting, or a regulatory agency.
• At least three years in a management, supervisory, or audit leadership role.
• Advanced writing skills; experience developing procurement guidance, and reviewing communications for varied audiences.
• Experience evaluating risks and controls across the audit lifecycle, including risk assessment and test design.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and ability to evaluate design, implementation, and operating effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Update IAD’s charter, policy, procedures, templates, and guidance to strengthen methodology consistency.
• Collaborate across IAD and manage change-management projects with stakeholders.
• Advise auditors at all levels on risk, controls, and testing approaches.
• Write and review instructional guidance; develop and update manuals and templates.
• Maintain methodology guidance within SharePoint and the audit management system.
• Identify training needs and deliver effective training with PPG collaboration.
• Coordinate with other risk functions to align policies and assurance activities.
• Provide leadership and influence without direct reporting lines.
• Leverage analytics, automation, and AI to improve audit efficiency and quality.
