Job summary

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Lead Interiors Payloads Support Engineer (Level 5) to provide Materials & Processes engineering support for the 787 Program in South Carolina. This role focuses on interiors materials and processes, including composites, metals, finishes, and fasteners, with leadership responsibilities across the team.

Successful candidates will have 10+ years in engineering/manufacturing, strong drawing interpretation, and a track record of leading complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years with composites, metals, finishes, or fasteners.
• 10+ years supporting the production system.
• 10+ years interpreting engineering drawings and/or specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead others, establish work statements, define strategies and provide consultation with peers.
• Support design engineering in material and process definition and selection of interiors components and flight deck structures.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with material and process requirements.
• Understand engineering requirements to support material and process design consultation, production support, and fleet support.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel to evaluate information impacting design, production, and support.
