Job summary

SAA Architects in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Designer to lead interior design teams from programming through construction documentation. You will manage client relationships, define project objectives, and oversee FF&E selections, finishes and materials for mid- to large-scale projects.

The role requires strong leadership, design excellence and mentorship of junior staff, with collaboration across design leads and principals to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 5-8 years of experience in an architecture or design studio.
• NCIDQ, CID, WELL and LEED accreditation preferred or within 12 months of hire.
• Proficient in SketchUp and AutoCAD; Working knowledge of Revit.
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience with project management, construction administration, consultant coordination and client relations.
• Knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems and materials; design process familiarity.
• Mentoring fellow design team; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design teams and projects from programming to construction documentation.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
• Create and communicate clear project objectives and requirements.
• Lead the selection of FF&E, furniture, fabrics, color palettes and lighting.
• Generate finish plans, specifications and materials for construction.
• Provide design support and documentation during execution of concepts.
• Collaborate with external consultants, product reps, vendors and fabricators.
• Assist Lead Designer in scheduling, staffing and productivity; engage in marketing.
