Job summary

KAL Architects, Inc. in Irvine, CA, seeks a Lead Senior Interior Designer to develop interior concepts for client presentations and manage design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

You will direct Junior staff in interior planning, including FF&E, materials, budgets, and documentation, while coordinating with clients, manufacturers, and in‑house teams. Site visits and meetings are required.

Qualifications

• NCIDQ certification is required.
• BA/BAA in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited school.
• 5-8 years of experience with architectural designers and coordination with other disciplines.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; BIM360 a plus.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency.
• Experience with public projects including Federal Government/Military installations.

Responsibilities

• Produce Revit/CAD drawings for construction documents.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with manufacturers and vendors.
• Research, evaluate, and select FF&E.
• Write furniture specifications and create project boards.
• Organize interior design resources and maintain documentation.
• Create project documents recording meetings, schedules, budgets, and correspondence.
• Visit job sites for measurements, surveys, and meetings.
