Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Associate Principal for Interiors in Dallas to lead interior design projects, mentor teams, and drive business growth. The role involves partnering with leadership to meet project goals, pursuing marketing efforts, and upholding HDR's design standards.

You will guide multi‑project delivery, demonstrate technical proficiency, and advocate sustainable practices while collaborating across disciplines to achieve HDR's design philosophy and client objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design/Architecture from an accredited school.
• Active interior design certificate holder or registered architect.
• Minimum 12 years in a relevant design firm environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Skilled in Revit and Bluebeam.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, mentoring and people skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; active participant in an employee‑owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Interiors and Office Leadership to support operational plans and project excellence goals.
• Participate in strategic marketing pursuits, client interviews, and presentations to win projects.
• Advocate for improvement and maintenance of project excellence.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to motivate others toward design excellence.
• Schedule and sponsor formal and informal design reviews.
• Establish and support office environments that promote HDR's brand.
• Promote HDR to potential candidates and assist with interview processes.
• Co‑lead design, technical, and management objectives across multiple projects.
• Demonstrate technical expertise across documents and details in all project phases.
• Advocate sustainable approaches for healthy environments and occupant well‑being.
• Collaborate across disciplines for successful delivery of projects at all scales.
