Coast Guard Community Services Command in Chesapeake, VA, is hiring a Supervisory General Engineer (Interdisciplinary) to oversee facilities engineering for ~65 nationwide sites, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

The role requires professional engineering credentials, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, and guidance to senior leadership on construction, modernization, safety, and facilities management. The position offers relocation/Recruitment incentives and DOE negotiation.

Qualifications

• DEGREE. Degree in Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: Be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or Include differential and integral calculus and courses more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (1) statics, dynamics; (2) strength of materials; (3) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (4) thermodynamics; (5) electrical fields and circuits; (6) nature and properties of materials; and (7) other comparable areas of engineering science or physics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering and facilities planning personnel and direct engineering, construction, renovation, repair, infrastructure modernization, safety oversight, and facilities management for ~65 facilities nationwide.
• Provide authoritative engineering guidance to senior leadership on facilities planning, infrastructure, safety, and contracting matters.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple projects, and advise on complex engineering challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.
