Job summary

AES Indiana is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Interconnection Planning Manager to oversee planning, assessment, and coordination of interconnection projects within the utility's networks in Ohio and Indiana. This role requires leadership to guide the team, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage external engagements with utilities, large-load customers, and generators.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in interconnections or transmission/distribution planning.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Proficiency with interconnection processes for MISO, PJM, PUCO and IRUC.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NESC and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage Ohio and Indiana interconnection studies.
Ensure adherence to FAC-001 and FAC-002 standards.
Serve as technical lead in external conversations with TOs, large-load customers, and generators.
Analyze complex datasets to scope feasibility and implementation.
Oversee contracts for GIAs, ISAs, CSAs, and Wire-to-Wire agreements.
Coordinate internal and contractor resources for studies, billing, and construction management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely project completion and address emergencies.
