Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a Load Manager to oversee interconnection requests for large customers (>20 MW). You will coordinate across transmission planning, distribution planning, engineering, and customer accounts to ensure reliable interconnection and timely study execution.

The role requires 7+ years in electric utilities, strong understanding of tariffs, and collaboration with PJM and other stakeholders. On-site role based in Akron, Ohio with cross-functional leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electric utility operations, transmission planning, distribution planning, customer interconnections, engineering, or grid operations.
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution system design and planning practices.
• Experience working with utility tariffs and agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end interconnection process for Wholesale customers >20 MW.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, operations and external consultants.
• Track project costs, schedules, risks and dependencies.
• Ensure compliance with tariffs, regulatory requirements and reliability standards.
• Develop and review Load Studies and related agreements with internal/external stakeholders.
