Job summary

AES Corporation in the United States is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Interconnection Planning Manager to oversee planning, assessment, and coordination of interconnection projects in Ohio and Indiana. You will ensure compliance with FAC-001/FAC-002 standards and run studies with internal and external stakeholders.

Located in Indianapolis or Dayton, the role requires 7+ years in interconnections or planning, a engineering degree, and strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in Interconnections or Planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Interconnection Process knowledge (MISO, PJM, PUCO, IRUC).
• Experience negotiating GIAs, ISAs, Wires-to-Wires, and Construction agreements.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze complex data and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage team members in Ohio and Indiana.
• Manage interconnection studies per FAC-001 and FAC-002.
• Be the technical lead for external conversations with TOs, Large Load Customers, and Generators.
• Analyze complex data sets to scope, feasibility, and implementation.
• Oversee contract management for GIAs, ISAs, CSAs, and Wire to Wire.
• Coordinate internal and contractor resources for studies, billing, and construction management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain Interconnection queue visibility.
• Ensure projects align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NESC and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure timely completion and address emergencies.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
