Job summary

Cisco Systems in Austin, TX seeks an Interconnect engineer with strong electromechanical and connector design experience to guide cross-functional teams from concept to production. You will optimize signal integrity, mentor engineers, and drive improvement across the lifecycle while partnering with suppliers to meet performance and cost targets.

You will lead design qualification, ensure regulatory and industry standard alignment, and influence high-speed interconnect architectures for Cisco

Qualifications

• BSME/BSEE or equivalent with typically demonstrated ability bringing new products to market.
• Hands-on experience with interconnect and connector technologies at the application and component level.
• Proven ability to lead multi-functional teams and communicate with senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical design principles, tolerance analysis, materials, and SI fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-functional teams to evaluate, down-select, and qualify connectors and interconnect components with suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure reliability, performance, and cost targets across the product lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate complex issues clearly to leadership.
• Align with industry standards and oversee design and qualification activities from concept to NPI.
