Job summary

Markon is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to support an intelligence customer, based in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on developing internal communications, drafting workforce messages for All Hands events, and summarizing topics for weekly newsletters.

You will collaborate with designers, technical teams, and stakeholders to update digital content, build user-friendly web pages and newsletters, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of relevant communications experience.
• Hands-on direct experience with Joomla and EDGE; excellent writing skills required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages promoting FO events such as All Hands meetings.
• Gather and summarize key topics for the weekly newsletter to engage the workforce.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to develop and update digital content.
• Create and implement visually appealing, user-friendly web pages and newsletters.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, CCCA, and other regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and external vendors as needed.
• Gather content requirements and update web text, images, videos, and multimedia.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution via EDGE Mass Email Tool.
• Work with various stakeholders to develop and deploy new communication strategies.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.
