Job summary

VTG in McLean, VA is seeking a Communications Officer to develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging. You will draft workforce messages for All Hands events and gather topics for the weekly newsletter.

Collaborate with designers and technical teams to build digital content, create user-friendly web pages and newsletters, ensure accessibility standards, and coordinate with IT and vendors.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI clearance with poly and 10+ years in communications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience acceptable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong project management with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of accessibility and regulatory standards applicable to web content.

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages promoting All Hands events.
• Gather and summarize key topics for the weekly newsletter to engage the workforce.
• Collaborate with designers and technical teams to develop and update digital content.
• Create and implement visually appealing, user-friendly web pages and newsletters.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, CCCA, and other regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and external vendors as needed.
• Gather content requirements and update web text, images, videos, and multimedia.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution via EDGE Mass Email Tool.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and deploy new communication strategies.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.
