Job summary

Markon is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join our team in Chantilly, VA, supporting an intelligence customer.

The role requires hands-on Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, and strong writing skills to develop internal communications, newsletters, and web content while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with designers and technical teams to publish content and manage mass emails using EDGE tools, while coordinating with IT and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of communications experience or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, and strong writing skills required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
• Expert level hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages promoting All Hands meetings.
• Gather and summarize topics for the weekly newsletter to engage the workforce.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to develop and update digital content.
• Create and implement visually appealing, user-friendly web pages and newsletters.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, CCCA, and other regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinate with IT and vendors as needed.
• Gather content requirements and update web text, images, videos, and multimedia.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution via EDGE Mass Email Tool.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and deploy new communication strategies.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.

• Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines


• Expert level of hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range

USD $200,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.
