Job summary

Qualifications

• MA/MS degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field (or BS with equivalent experience).
• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in software/systems engineering, solution architecture, or large-scale system integration.
• Possess agile certifications such as SAFe..., AWS/Azure/GCP architecture certification, or comparable credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME-level oversight of the SI’s software development, integration, testing, release, and sustainment activities across the solution train.
• Assess alignment between SI execution and approved program requirements, product roadmaps, architectural standards, engineering plans, and delivery objectives.
• Evaluate solution-level dependencies, interfaces, integration points, data flows, and technical constraints across ARTs, product teams, external systems, and mission partners.
• Review and assess SI technical deliverables, including architecture products, design docs, interface specs, backlog artifacts, test plans, release plans, deployment docs, and technical debt plans.
• Identify technical risks, integration gaps, architectural inconsistencies, delivery impediments, and potential impacts to cost, schedule, performance, cybersecurity, and operational suitability.
• Develop and present technically sound findings, recommendations, courses of action, and decision briefs for program leadership.
• Assess adequacy of program increment objectives, dependency management, release readiness criteria, sprint outcomes, and software delivery metrics.
• Evaluate SI backlog refinement, prioritization, estimation, and technical planning for requirements, architecture, security, testability, and sustainment.
• Review delivery performance trends and recommend corrective actions when execution misses objectives.
• Support technical reviews, design reviews, readiness reviews, and other forums with analyses and disposition tracking.
• Recommend acceptance criteria, exit criteria, and readiness thresholds for releases, deployments, and major increments.
• Identify gaps between demonstrated functionality and required operational outcomes and recommend remediation priorities.
• Support independent assessments, audits, reviews, and milestone decisions as directed.
• Serve as technical liaison among program leadership, engineering, product management, cybersecurity, and stakeholders.
