Job summary

re-zoo-me is seeking an Senior Integration Engineer / Technical Consultant to lead complex Atlassian migrations and integrations. You’ll develop custom tooling, work across Windows and Linux environments, and translate technical decisions for executives.

You’ll design and implement REST/GraphQL integrations, automate migrations, and guide clients through modernization while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Senior Integration Engineer / Technical Consultant – Atlassian

Location: Hybrid – candidates must be located near one of the following U.S. hubs: Portland, Seattle, Austin, San Francisco Bay Area, Southern California, Chicago, St. Louis, New York, or Washington, D.C./NCR.

About the Role

We are seeking an engineering-minded technical consultant who enjoys solving complex infrastructure, integration, and migration challenges.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can step into complex enterprise environments, identify technical blockers, and engineer solutions when standard platform capabilities or vendor-supported tools fall short.

You will work across the full engagement lifecycle—from technical assessments and solution design through migration, integration development, cutover, and post-production stabilization. This may involve writing scripts, building integrations from scratch, reverse-engineering existing configurations and automations, transforming data, troubleshooting infrastructure, and developing custom tools to close technical gaps.

Just as importantly, you will work directly with clients. You must be able to translate complex technical issues, risks, and trade-offs into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Integration Development & Technical Problem Solving

• Design, build, test, and troubleshoot enterprise integrations.
• Identify and resolve technical blockers throughout complex migration and modernization initiatives.
• Reverse-engineer existing workflows, configurations, automations, and integrations to determine what should be rebuilt, replaced, or retired.
• Develop custom tooling, scripts, and integrations when native or vendor-supported solutions cannot meet business requirements.
• Own technical solutions from initial problem identification through implementation and validation.

Scripting & Automation

• Develop production-quality solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or comparable scripting/programming languages.
• Build automation supporting ETL processes, data cleanup, migration validation, reconciliation, and operational workflows.
• Create reusable tools and accelerators that improve delivery across multiple client engagements.

APIs, Data & Cloud Integrations

• Build, consume, test, and troubleshoot REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Develop integrations using OAuth, webhooks, and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Use SQL to analyze, transform, reconcile, and validate enterprise data.
• Design or replace integrations as organizations transition from on-premises to cloud environments.

Infrastructure & Systems Engineering

• Work hands-on with Windows and Linux environments, including server administration, permissions, services, startup processes, and troubleshooting.
• Use SSH and remote-access tools to manage and diagnose infrastructure across hybrid and cloud environments.
• Manage environment variables, startup scripts, daemons, scheduled tasks, and related system configurations.

Atlassian Platform & Cloud Migration

• Design and execute technical solutions across Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and related Atlassian environments.
• Support complex Atlassian Cloud migrations, including technical assessment, test migrations, phased migration strategies, cutover, validation, and rollback planning.
• Work alongside JCMA and CCMA migration tooling and engineer solutions when native migration capabilities reach their limits.
• Evaluate technical risks involving scale, performance, data integrity, integrations, security, compliance, and user experience.
• Identify and resolve gaps involving native Atlassian functionality, Marketplace applications, legacy integrations, and cloud architecture.

Client Consulting & Technical Leadership

• Lead technical discussions with client engineering, infrastructure, application, and business teams.
• Translate technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Own the technical narrative from initial readiness assessment through implementation and post-migration review.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor during complex modernization initiatives.

Pre-Sales & Practice Development

• Support technical discovery, migration assessments, solution design, estimates, and proposal development.
• Contribute to internal methodologies, technical accelerators, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Mentor other consultants and share technical lessons learned across the practice.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on enterprise engineering experience.
• Demonstrated client-facing technical consulting experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or comparable languages, with the ability to independently develop high-quality technical solutions.
• Strong experience building, consuming, and debugging REST APIs; GraphQL experience is highly desirable.
• Strong SQL skills across relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Hands-on Linux and Windows systems administration experience.
• Experience with SSH and infrastructure troubleshooting in hybrid and/or cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience administering, configuring, integrating, or developing solutions for Jira, Confluence, and/or Jira Service Management.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Highly Desirable

• Atlassian Cloud migration experience.
• Experience with JCMA and/or CCMA.
• Atlassian Certified Professional or Associate certifications.
• Identity and access management experience, including SSO, SAML, and SCIM.
• Experience with OAuth, webhooks, and event-driven integrations.
• GraphQL tooling such as Postman or Insomnia.
• API gateway experience.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy environments such as public sector, healthcare, aerospace, or defense.
