Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Northridge, CA seeks a Sr Staff Systems Development Lead Engineer to drive cross-functional IFC planning across hardware and software domains. The role requires deep systems thinking, leadership of large teams, and defense program experience.

You will own risk, schedules, and budgets, coordinate multi-contract development, and ensure certification readiness while working in a hybrid on-site/remote environment with a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Defense Technology or a related field with 14 years of defense/aerospace product development; or a Master’s with 12+ years; or Ph.D with 10+ years.
• 5+ years of experience leading large, multidisciplinary cross-functional teams of 20+ personnel.
• Experience coordinating complex multi-contract defense/aerospace programs.
• Experience integrating software for real-time, embedded, distributed, or mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overarching strategic IFC Plan for each product line.
• Align hardware and software IPTs with the IFC schedule and milestones.
• Oversee evolution of IFC plan through architecture, hardware, and software design phases.
• Lead certification efforts and deliver IFC system certificate packages.
• Expand technical breadth across a diverse portfolio of mission threads.
• Own Control Account Management: budget, schedule, and performance metrics.
