Job summary

Exelon Corporation is seeking an experienced Insurance and Risk Manager to execute corporate policy for insurance and risk retention programs and to represent corporate interests. You will administer risk-related programs, interface with brokers and insurer staff, and help reduce insurance costs across multiple locations.

The role requires a degree in risk management/insurance or related fields, plus 5+ years in risk management.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in risk management & insurance, accounting, finance, engineering or related degree.
• Completion of insurance related professional designation: CPCU or ARM preferred (unless applicant possesses a risk management & insurance undergraduate degree).
• 5+ years experience in insurance or risk management.
• Demonstrated analytical and evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and insurance markets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination of the corporate insurance program and the management of risks through the administration of third party and self-insured programs. (30%)
• Identify and evaluate corporate risk exposures. Make recommendations to Insurance Department Leadership for addressing these exposures. (20%)
• Coordinate specific corporate insurance programs and represent corporate interests with brokers and insurers. (30%)
• Support the negotiation of specific insurance coverages, review insurance contracts, administer insurance policies, and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. (20%)
• Perform analytical and administrative tasks necessary to support the management of specific lines of insurance coverage.
• Assist the Insurance Department Leadership to efficiently insure Exelon’s transmission and distribution assets through best practice risk management techniques.
• Maintain strong working relationships with insurance brokers and insurers.
• Act as liaison between various internal and external parties. Serve as consultant to internal organizations on risk management issues.
• Support the administration of the corporate insurance program, review insurance policies and coordinate the payment of invoices and broker services.
