Job summary

Larson Maddox is assisting a growing insurance organization in Florida with a leadership role in Risk & Compliance. You will guide cross-functional teams on risk and regulatory topics, monitor developments, and support examinations and reporting.

The role emphasizes strengthening the risk framework, governance activities, and enterprise risk initiatives across ERM, compliance, and filings. A strong background in life & annuity is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of experience in insurance compliance, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience working within an insurance carrier environment is required.
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices.
• Experience interacting with regulators, supporting examinations, audits, or regulatory reporting processes.
• Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and enterprise risk management concepts.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
• Life & annuity experience is preferred; candidates from other insurance sectors will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders across the organization to provide guidance on risk and compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments and help assess their impact on company operations, products, and processes.
• Coordinate and support regulatory examinations, audits, reviews, and information requests.
• Assist in maintaining and strengthening the organization's risk management framework.
• Participate in compliance monitoring, testing, and governance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Support risk reporting, risk assessments, and enterprise-wide risk initiatives, including ORSA-related efforts.
• Help manage insurance filings, regulatory reporting obligations, and implementation of new requirements.
• Develop, update, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Contribute to product-related compliance initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed.
