Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Counsel to independently manage high exposure cases and complex litigation, from inception through trial and appeal. You will lead and mentor attorneys, collaborate with experts, and provide strategic recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.

The role requires a Juris Doctorate, active bar admission, and a proven record in insurance defense litigation, including jury trials and dispositive motions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Proven track record of litigating jury trials and outcomes.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to explain complex matters to diverse audiences.
• Advanced advocacy with success in summary judgment or appellate matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Apply litigation skills to trials, depositions and appellate work as needed.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Provide case analysis and strategic recommendations to insured clients and partners.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff; collaborate with experts.
