Job summary

Leading international law firm seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate/Senior Associate/Senior Counsel to join its Litigation team in California. The practice handles complex coverage disputes for domestic and international insurers, with exposure to CGL, property, E&O, D&O matters.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an ABA-accredited school, active CA Bar, 3+ years of insurance coverage litigation, strong drafting, research, and communication skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
• Law Review and/or Honors required
• Active Bar Admission in California in good standing
• 3+ years of substantive litigation experience focusing on insurance coverage
• Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
• Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
• Experience drafting litigation-related documents
• Experience participating in litigation proceedings including depositions and mediations
• Familiarity with bad faith claims, CGL, commercial property, E&O, and D&O
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and draft coverage opinions
• Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other tools
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
• Review and analyze document collections for litigation prep
• Engage with domestic and international insurers
• Collaborate with partners to advance case objectives
