Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years’ progressive accounting responsibility.
• Experience leading a team of at least 3.
• Insurance accounting experience required.
• Experience with general ledger packages and month-end close.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close procedures and prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze balances.
• Lead preparation of monthly internal financial statements and statutory filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Mentor staff on accounting concepts and systems.
• Maintain SOX controls and documentation.
• Collaborate with accounting team on project goals.
