Job summary

Hyundai Capital America (HCA) is seeking an Insurance Accounting Manager to lead accounting and financial reporting for its insurance product portfolio, including vehicle service contracts and related protections. You will ensure accurate close, strong internal controls, and collaboration with business partners and external counterparties.

The role emphasizes month-end processes, external audits, and compliance reporting, with a focus on GAAP, ASC 944, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years accounting experience in insurance or financial services.
• Experience applying U.S. GAAP to non-routine matters.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, OBIEE, Tableau or SQL inquiries preferred.
• Automotive captive finance or related financial services experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research guidance independently.
• Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance accounting incl. ASC 944.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end close with cross-functional partners and the external program administrator.
• Manage monthly financial reporting and variance analysis for assigned insurance entities.
• Coordinate with external program administrator and auditors to complete annual financial statements audit.
• Review and approve monthly cash transfers and dealer settlements; resolve discrepancies.
• Support product launches, program enhancements, and system implementations by evaluating accounting impacts and controls.
