Job summary

FITS in the Utilities and Engineering space is seeking an Instrumentation technician with strong calibration and maintenance capabilities. The candidate will perform advanced instrument calibrations on process and utility equipment, maintain spare parts inventory, and ensure proper documentation for instruments and work orders.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish, an associate degree or equivalent with instrument experience, and ability to contribute to training and SOP development.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with instrument experience in regulated industry.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is required.
• Experience calibrating instrumentation (temperature, pressure, level, analytical).
• Sanitary diaphragm and gasket replacement experience.
• Review and maintain Autoclave/Glasswasher documentation and records.
• Familiarity with LOTO procedures and CMMS use (Maximo).
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced calibrations of instruments on process and utility equipment.
• Maintain an up-to-date spare parts inventory for equipment/systems.
• Ensure calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work orders are accurate.
• Evaluate calibration cycles and optimize the program.
• Develop and maintain training programs to build team knowledge.
• Develop, revise, and review SOPs for related areas.
• Install, configure, and start up multiple instruments and controllers for process control.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software in computer-based process control systems.
• Maintain up-to-date cGMP training records and drawings.
• Complete PLC, DCS, BMS, and MMI programming and advanced troubleshooting.
• Assist with startup of new equipment and ensure specs are met.
• Contribute to validation documents for instrumentation equipment.
