Job summary

IKM Consultants AS seeks an experienced instrumentation engineer in Bergen for full-time engagement on offshore/onshore oil & gas projects. You will design instrumentation tasks, estimate work, and coordinate with suppliers, participating in FAT and inspections. The role involves training junior engineers and updating as-built documentation.

The position requires 8+ years in the field, a relevant degree, and certifications (EX, LV, HUET, health). Offshore travel is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware (or related VEM experience).
Minimum 8 years of offshore/onshore oil & gas project experience.
Knowledge of instrumentation, field equipment, and control systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical).
Experience with brownfield modifications and operating facilities; familiarity with ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys and ARIS.
Required certifications: Basic EX course, FSE high/low voltage with first aid, Offshore HUET, and health certificate.
Experience with tender prep, tie-back developments, and metering systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed design of instrumentation tasks and participate in technical studies.
Estimate instrumentation tasks and prepare comprehensive job packages.
Follow up with suppliers and take on package responsibility, incl. pre-test/FAT participation.
Conduct discipline checks of design basis, including studies, drawings, and job packages.
Participate in onshore and offshore inspections.
Take on training responsibilities for new engineers and perform as-built updates.
