Techconsult is seeking a Senior/Principal instrumentation engineer for Bergen with 8+ years in offshore/onshore oil & gas. You will lead detailed instrumentation design, study participation, and tender prep, coordinating with suppliers and project teams.

You’ll mentor engineers and contribute to FATs and as-built tasks, ensuring safety and compliance. Fluent in English and/or Norwegian, with ATEX/NORSOK knowledge and ProCoSys/ARIS experience highly valued.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware or a Technical College degree with extensive VEM experience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and work on operating facilities.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in the oil and gas industry.

Job responsibilities:

• Detailed design of instrumentation tasks.
• Participate in studies.
• Estimate instrumentation tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages).
• Follow up with suppliers, package responsibility.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier.
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore.
• Able to take on training responsibilities for new engineers.
• Perform as-built.

Your experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware.
• Alternatively, a Technical College degree with extensive experience in VEM.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and work on operating facilities.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
• Experience with ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys, and ARIS.
• Fluent in Norwegian and/or English, both written and spoken
• Ability to take ownership of engineering activities and support project execution from study phase through completion.
• Experience with preparatiln of tenders, tie-back developments, and metering systems is considered an advantage.

Required Course:

• Basic EX-course
• FSE high and low voltage with first aid
• Offshore certificate with helivelt
• Health certificate
