Röhm Bay City is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to oversee plant instrumentation maintenance and reliability initiatives, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering. You will select sensors, design loops, integrate field instruments, calibrate devices, and ensure compliance with ISA, API, NEC and other industry standards, with travel up to 10%.

Strong knowledge of P&ID reviews, control narratives and PM strategies will help optimize reliability and drive

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Electrical, Controls/Automation Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years as Electrical Instrumentation Engineer in continuous processing industries (Petrochemical/Chemical).
• Experience with control valves, flow, level, pressure and temperature instruments and control schemes.
• Strong expertise in P&ID reviews, Cause and Effect diagrams, and Control Narratives.
• Experience with industrial computer systems, motor control, PLCs and DCS; signals and process networks.
• Knowledge of NFPA, API, ASME, ISA standards.
• Willing to travel up to 10% and wear PPE.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical expertise to Bay City Engineering, Operations and Maintenance for instrumentation and controls.
• Guide instrumentation selection, installation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain SIS system and troubleshoot.
• Develop and optimize PM strategies; identify critical spare parts for plant instrumentation.
• Perform instrument selection, sizing and calibration (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Develop improvement plans for instrumentation reliability and upgrades.
• Conduct RCFA on instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions.
• Update P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets.
• Support procurement to ensure project specs.
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate instrumentation components.
• Ensure compliance with ISA, API, NEC and other standards.
