Job summary

PVS Chemical Solutions – Chicago is seeking a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for a safe, reliable plant.

You will lead maintenance and project activities, working with the maintenance supervisor and contractors to ensure compliance with SCADA/DCS controls, PM programs, and RCFA methodologies, while promoting energy efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of chemical manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and mass measurements.
• Experience with NFPA, ISA, API, NACE, ANSI, ASTM standards.
• Ability to lead teams and promote a safe, reliable culture.
• Strong CMMS, maintenance planning, PdM technologies, and RCFA experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize electrical and instrumentation activities.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel and contractors in testing, calibration, and repairs of instruments/equipment.
• Ensure installations, inspections, calibrations, and repairs meet established standards.
• Coordinate with storeroom to maintain parts inventory and approve purchases.
• Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Training Program.
• Electrical and Instrumentation Contractor Qualification and Selection.
• CMMS Utilization and PM Program.
• Mechanical Integrity Program.
• Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode Trend Analysis.
• Shutdown and Turnaround Planning, Work Prioritization, and Project Management.
• Understand plant operations hands-on and how different capabilities work.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, cost, and energy efficiency.
• Participate in HAZOP and PHA analyses.
• Uphold Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care principles.
