Job summary

Stratus hires an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead front-end and detailed engineering for petrochemical/oil & gas projects. You will coordinate with multi-discipline teams, develop instrument specifications, and ensure robust interface with vendors and clients.

The role requires extensive experience and strong communication skills. The position supports hybrid work and offers growth opportunities across civic, commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors.

Qualifications

BSc in engineering with minimum 10 years' experience in instrumentation and controls for petrochemical/oil & gas.
Ability to lead quality management of discipline work processes and deliverables.
Experience with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI) including specification & integration design.
Experience with field instruments and control valve selection, calculation, and detailed specs.
Participation in risk management sessions (HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA/SIL).
Knowledge of API, NFPA, ISA, PIP, IEC, IEEE design standards.
Strong communication and ability to lead work with clients through proposal to execution.

Responsibilities

Prepare instrument and control system specifications, instrument data sheets and deliverables.
Review instrument/control vendor drawings; interface with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines.
Develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, logic diagrams, and related instrumentation and controls documents
