Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks a Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to own the end-to-end design of fuel-gas skids and station solutions for mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will deliver safe, reliable designs, integrate gas metering and regulation, and ensure regulatory compliance across large projects.

You will report to the General Manager and operate from our Houston, TX location on a Hybrid schedule. 90 days onsite required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 6+ years on complex capital projects with design, scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk accountability.
• Experience designing industrial instrumentation and control systems for packaged equipment or energy infrastructure.
• Ability to read and develop P&ID, control narratives, I/O lists, data sheets, loop diagrams, and wiring drawings.
• Knowledge of natural-gas flow measurement, pressure regulation, and gas-quality analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own instrumentation and controls design and technical execution for large gas skid or station projects.
• Translate customer specifications into an integrated controls solution.
• Develop and maintain control basis, philosophy, and specifications.
• Specify and integrate gas meters, regulators, safety valves, analyzers, and control systems.
• Design control, alarm, interlock, shutdown, and monitoring strategies for safe operation.
• Define interfaces with generator packages, facility controls, and remote platforms.
• Coordinate hazardous-area requirements and safety standards with authorities.
• Lead design reviews, clarifications, risk assessments, and vendor discussions.
• Review supplier submittals for compliance with specs, quality, schedule, and cost.
• Develop verification plans including factory and site acceptance testing.
• Support fabrication, installation, startup, troubleshooting, and turnover to operations.
• Manage scope, schedule, risks, and configuration control; document everything.
• Drive standardization and modularization across gas skid and station portfolios.
